Does anyone have suggestions on a short 4-5 day trip from San Francisco? Has anyone ever done Costa Rica in such a short period of time? I usually love to go for longer periods of time but I don't think it'll happen this time around. We're thinking about New Year's Eve timeframe. (Yeah, we're planners!)

We've just moved into a small flat in SF from Paris. I used to have a small area for flower boxes and an herb garden but now I have a fire escape and a small area of our back steps. I may have some room in the 'backyard' -- but it's mostly concrete.
Anyone have hints on urban gardening? Container gardening or herb growing? Is it too late to have container herbs like basil?

What was your worst hairstyle decision ever?
Not really my decision at the time. I was about 5 or 6 years old and my mom had a thing for curly haired children. Since we're Asian/Pac Islander, that was just something cute. Well she got it in her head to do a HOME PERM on me. Not only did it turn out SUUUUUUPER curly (Ma kept it in a little longer -- "just in case") but it frizzed so badly. I looked like Asian girl with a really bad afro.
